We at ComForCare are extremely excited to give our referral partners, clients, and caregivers information on The Elizabeth Dole Home Care Act. Taking care of clients is something we pride ourselves on but taking care of our Nation’s heroes is something we are even proud of! The Elizabeth Dole Home Care Act is going to give Veterans even more hours in their homes with caregivers. As Congresswoman Julia Brownley states, our Veterans do.
Congresswoman Julia Brownley who introduced the bill says, “This bill, which has overwhelming bipartisan, bicameral support, is a fitting honor for the service and sacrifice of the veterans advocating for this bill. It is the single largest expansion of long-term care services at the VA in decades, and it would impact nearly every veteran living with catastrophic disabilities or living with the effects of aging.
“Disabled and aging veterans want to be cared for in their home, with their families, in their communities, and our veterans have more than earned the right to have the option of living their lives at home.”
Some specific of this bill include:
- Increases Expenditure Cap for Veterans receiving home care.
- Adds additional hours for home care in special diagnoses such as ALS.
- Adds geographic expansion of services to include Native American Communities.
- Increases care in rural communities.
